Mount Auburn Cemetery

I had never been to Mount Auburn Cemetery until Wednesday. It is the first landscaped or gardened cemetery in the country. It is located in Cambridge at 580 Mount Auburn Street. Check it out it is beautiful and interesting. The people in the information building near the front entrance are very helpful and pleasant.

Pancakes

I found this amazing pancake recipe online and adjusted it slightly. It is from a grandma recipe somewhere in the world.

INGREDIENTS:
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour           11/4 cups milk
3 ½ teaspoons baking powder     1 egg
1/2 teaspoon salt                       3 tablespoons melted butter
1 tablespoon suger                     1 teaspoon vanilla ( you could try almond extract too)
DIRECTIONS:
In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.  Make a well in the center and pour in the egg and milk. Melt the butter and slowly pour in whisking to temper the egg.
Mix until smooth.
Heat a lightly oiled griddle ( I used cooking spray) or a frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approx ¼ cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve hot with butter and or syrup. They were amazing. I had them with a little truffled scrambled eggs.
( I used a maple apple drizzle made by side hill farm)
